AmCham donates the 2023 Golf Day proceeds For Immediate Release Lusaka, May 16, 2024. The American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia has donated to Circle of Hope in alignment with its commitment to donate proceeds from its annual Golf Day. With this donation, 10 adolescent youth persons (AYPs) will be trained by Cake Market College Zambia, a TEVETA-certified culinary and entrepreneurship training institute. The college offers a comprehensive educational experience that combines both theoretical and practical training. This approach prepares students for careers in the culinary arts and entrepreneurship. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in the food and hospitality industry, as well as in starting and managing their own businesses. Cake Market College Zambia aims to support 50,000 women and youth with baking skills that can increase household incomes by K3,500 per month according to surveys conducted by the organization. Women, youth, and girls trained by Cake Market College Zambia will also contribute to the baking value chain by manufacturing baking products that can be sold through the Cake Market Zambia network. Speaking at the donation event, American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia CEO, Royd Kapesa, in his remarks, highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to contributing to an equitable business environment where all groups are economically involved.
